{Before you is the door to the battle arena of Will, your interviewee. You look around nervously. You’ve heard that this man is… odd. But hey, that’s for the interview to decide. You start to push the door open before it quickly slides open. You step back, startled, but then proceed. It’s a large space, but it’s empty. You could have sworn he said he’d be here for this interview. You walk to the center of the arena and wait. In an attempt to find this man, you look around. You turn around to see a masked man standing right before you with a large grin on his face. You let out a small cry of surprise. How the hell did this guy get here? No matter. He’s here now and you can get this damn interview over with…}
This was made on dA by Gilbertman. Yay for his amazing art~
My Parents call me
Parents? Parents? Hahaha! What parents? The closest thing I’ve had to a parent is that Masked Man, but I’d probably hurl if I had to call him “daddy.” But as for my real parents, well uh…. Let’s see… Are they dead…? {Will taps his chin and looks up at the ceiling for a few seconds.} Oh well, who really gives a damn anyway? Buuuuuuuut they’d call me Trinnean Willet Fabian, I’m sure. Brilliant name, hm?{Will leans in and smiles, as if you were joking.}
My Friends call me
Friends. Chums. Buddies. Pals~ They’re quite the necessity, no? Anywho~ My friends all call me Will. There’s not a lot of nicknames you can get from Trinnean. Mayhaps Trinny, but that sounds a bit too close to Tranny for my liking. Hahaha! {Will once again taps his chin and thinks.}{Will stands straight and waves his hands dramatically as he lists.}
You know… I may have been called a few other things… But I doubt those are what you’re looking for~[/blockquote][/blockquote]
I'm not an it! I'm a
Well, I’m a lot of things, actually. Jack of all trades, if you will~ {You give Will a look of confusion.} Ohohoh… You mean sex~ Well… {Will leans in uncomfortably close to your face. He has a large grin on his face and he looks around before speaking.} Only one way to find out~ {You can smell the awkwardness in the room as Will refuses to move away from you. Finally, he leans back out and laughs.}
Kidding~ I’m a chap, of course~ I know the purple hair may throw you off, but hey, some find it to be very masculine~
I am an
Elite trainer, thank you very much. {Will smiles.} The best of the best and the best one at that! Oh, it's fun. All for fun and fun for all, that's what I always say! Well, no it's not. {Will waves his hands around.} But so what, big deal, who really cares anyway?
But there’re other good points to being on top. Power, for instance. It’s a good thing, that power. {Will grins and crosses his arms. He looks very authoritative, at least to him.} You see… I strive to be the best trainer, but some people think I’m only the fourth best trainer. {Will sticks his nose up.} So yes… Elite trainer. Don’t forget it.
I don't need wrinkle cream! I'm
{Will cocks his head to one side.} Wrinkle creeeam…? Hahaha! Of course I don’t need it! I’m only twenty-six, after all. But I know you may take me as older. I am, after all, so very mature~ {Will winks.}
Do you think I need a diet?
{Will's head tilts.} A diet? If I didn't know what that was, I'd have no idea what you were talking about. I had to get this suit tailored to fit me, just so you know. {You explain what you mean and Will stops and looks around.}
Of course you meant physical description. Aaaaaanybody could tell that. From the top down, I say.
{Will flips his hair around.} As you can see, I have somewhat long purple hair. It goes just below the back of my neck and tends to cover my left eye. Pesky little thing.
And speaking of eyes, {Will strike the thinker pose.} I wear a stylish black mask over my face. Without it my beauty would blind the masses! {You give Will a look of unamusment.} Okay fine. I just like this mask. Happy? Take the fun out of...
I wear a black suit jacket {Will says as he slaps his hands on his hips and turns slightly to the side.} that covers a white dress shirt. The cuffs, which are French by the way~, are red and are pulled out from under my jacket so the world can see how well they match my necktie. {Will holds his hands up as if about to perform surgery.} My hands are covered by white gloves. Why? Because I think they look nice. Is that so wrong?
{Will falls to the floor and sticks his legs up.} My pants are the same red that you can see on my cuffs and tie. I match so well, yes? No? Yes? Hehehe.
And that’s just my wonderful sense of fashion~
I’m five feet tall with six inches tagged along. So no. I’m not short.
{Will scowls and is lost in thought, or rather memories of cruel, cruel humor.}
My emotional disposition?
Oh, how kind of you to ask~ Weeeeell, I like to enjoy life, you know? Have some fun! I'm not talking paddle ball fun either. I mean the reeeaaal fun in life! Like battling!
I guess you could call me and happy-go-lucky fellow. Call me a moose for all I care, as long as I'm doing what I want I don't give a damn~
But to say I'm one sided is wrong. I know it seems like all I ever am is rays of fruit loops, but I have other emotions too. I just don't like them, so I shove them aside~ {Will winks.}
I guess you could call me a control freak. After all I do like, well, control! That's why the Psychic Type is the best. They can control things without even moving~ {Will vibrates with glee at the thought.} I don’t like it when things spiral out of my hands. If their not in my hands, who knows what horrible things could happen! {Will looks horrified, as if picturing out of control things going on in his mind. After the movie is over, Will snaps back to his “normal” self and resumes.}
I love to control other people as well. Is that a bad thing? {You nod yes, causing Will look shocked for a moment before waving a gloved hand in the air.} Hm, I guess it is. But who cares, it's fun~ {You look disgusted by this comment and Will notices.} You look surprised. I said I don't care about anything as long as I'm doing what I want. {Your facial expression does not change. Will pouts and crosses his arms, sticking his nose in the air.} Alright, fine! I'm selfish. So what? I don't care if you think that's bad. I look out for number one!
Oh yeah and um... One other thing. Back to the uh, control thing. When I lose that splendid control, I don't let anyone have the chance to control me! {Will strikes a heroic pose but you ask what exactly that means.} It means that I make my great escape~ {The two of you stare at each other for a moment. Will eventually breaks and stomps his foot.} I know what you're thinking and you're wrong! I am not a coward! I don't run away, I make great escapes! There's a difference, you know! {Will sticks his tongue out at you.}
Things that are Groovy
Groovy? …I like it~
Psychic Types - Control, power, and a lot of fun tricks~
Battles - They're so exciting.
Winning - What good is a battle if you don't win?
Karen - Best friends for life~ Hehehe!
Sarcasm - It's so much fun to taunt people.
Myself – No explanation needed~ {Will winks.}
Grape Soda – Bubbly, delicious, and a great way to start the day~
Things that aren't so Groovy
Dark Types - They think they're so great.
Losing - It's no fun!
The Masked Man - He is so ungrateful!
Chaos – Unless I’m causing it, of course.
Weakness – Never.
Coffee – It’s disgusting! How do so many people like it?
Ungratefulness – Some people just cannot be pleased~
But..I'm afraid!
{Will puts his hands on his hips and gets in your face.} Afraid? Me? Of what? {You look at Will until he finally gets out of your face and crosses his arms.} Alright fine. So I have a few fears here and there, big whoop. At least none of them are as stupid as birds~ Hahaha!
Well, let's see... {Will taps his chin.} Oh, here's one. I guess you could say I have a fear of people seeing my face. This mask isn't just to make me look good, you know~ It just makes me feel uncomfortable. Like I'm missing clothes. How would you like to go running around without any pants?
What else could there possibly be...? Oh yeah. The dark. {You snicker. Will flings his arms in the air and flail about.} What was that for?! It's not funny! It's a legitimate fear! {Will regains his composure and crosses his arms.} Besides, it's just pitch black darkness I'm afraid of. You can't see where you're going or what could be there with you. So there. {Will sticks his tongue out at you.}
That and we're back to the control thing again. And how I make. Great. Escapes. Not run away.
I like to
Battle! And win! Oh, it's so much fun~ I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't battle. I'd probably shrivel up and turn into a raisin. Hahaha! Battling is a fight for power, you know. If you win, you’re better than the other guy. It’s a proven fact~ It’s also why I always win. Because I’m better~ I keep the battle in the palm of my hand, right where I want it. But aside from battling, I like card tricks. Ooh, they're so much fun~ People are amazed when I just pull out their card! Ooh, you wanna play? {Will pulls out a deck of cards, but you shake your head. Will frowns and tosses the deck behind him.} You're no fun...
Anything fun is fine with me. Games too. Not tag or hide-in-the-middle-with-a-monkey or anything small like that. I'm talking about high flying, crazy ass stuff! Hehehe! {Will giggles and claps his hands.}
My reason?
Because I feel like it. Is there any other reason to do anything?
Well, I’m an Elite trainer because I work hard and play hard~ I’m just so good, how could I not be an Elite? Besides, Elite means power and power means control~
And because I feel like it. Yes.
Mandatory Angst
{Will looks at you suspiciously.} Hm. Poking around my past? Well… {Will waves a gloved hand about.} You seem innocent enough~
Well, let’s see…
Kids can be so cruel. That’s really my childhood for you. {You glare at Will until he finally gives in.} Finefinefine. As a lad I was… Just under average size…? I was short, okay, short. Small, weak, tiny, whatever! Are you happy? Are you happy to hear that? {You are startled by the sudden outburst. Will takes a moment before resuming, as if nothing had happened.} I grew up in Azalea Town. It was small, so everyone knew each other. I can still remember that stupid motto. “Where People and Pokémon Live in Happy Harmony!” It doesn’t say anything about people and people. The other kids were real bastards, if you ask me. Hm. They’d always get on me for being short and small and… weak. But they were the weak ones. Beating up someone just because they know they can’t fight back. That’s pretty low. So low that they were actually shorter than I was. {Will chuckles at his little pun. It’s an odd laugh, though. It seems forced.}
One lovely day I was walking on the edge of Ilex Forest, as I often enjoyed doing, when those damn kids came and, as usual, beat the shit out of me… This time they left me with the splendid gift of a black eye. And so the fun began~
My parents… Well, I don’t like to think about them, but I’ll say that they were hardly any better than the children. If they saw me with a black eye, that eye would be the least of my worries. I wandered around until I saw a cardboard box out by some trash and was so clever enough as to make myself a little cover-up. I ripped a piece of the box out, punched out two holes, grabbed some dental floss from the trash and voila! I had just made myself a mask. A brilliant way to cover up my black eye~ I wore that mask around all the time, even after my eye got better. I felt so much better in that ratty mask. I felt like someone else; someone better.
Some time later, I was walking along the edge of the Ilex Forest when I saw the same kids coming over. So I was smart and lef- …Made a great escape. I ran into the dark woods and hid- waited in those woods for them to leave. But who’d a thunk that while waiting in those woods that some weirdo in a mask and black cloak would end up behind me? It was pretty crazy~ He knew about me, which was pretty unnerving to say the least. He said I could have power and control so that nobody would be able to knock me down anymore. Needless to say, I was skeptical about going with this random ghosty thing, but then he got me. He took off my cardboard mask and gave me a wonderful, splendid new one. I was sold.
After going with this guy, I found myself in some odd building. I met with five other kids. They seemed… boring. Except for one. This girl named Karen. She just radiated excitement. When we were paired up, I was ecstatic to be paired up with her~ {You give Will a sly look. His face glows red.} Not like that!
Anywho, the masked man gave each of us a pokemon. I got a Natu. It said it all, if you ask me. It was small and short and just looked like you could crush it with your foot. But noooo~ It was a powerful psychic type! It had power and control even with its short stature~ It. Was. Perfect.
We trained long and hard under the masked man. Every day we became stronger and more confident in battling. I, of course, was the best of us six.
One day the masked man told us about this team of people that disbanded. He said he was gonna take them in like he did us. Team Rocket. I was glad. It meant I got to push people around, which I liked doing. A lot. But apparently some people were ungrateful and decided to run away. A stupid move if you ask me. We had all we wanted! We tried chasing them down but… they got away. {Will rolls his eyes and sighs.} I blamed Keane. But whatever. Who cares about them?
So over the many, many years I became quite the battler. I never lost~ Hahaha! And after my Natu evolved, we were unstoppable~
Eventually the masked man got his plan going but it failed. Hahaha! That idiot~ {You give Will a confused look.} He gave me a lot and helped me out, but hey, he was foolish. To me, he was nothing more than a stepping stone.
After I left him and his boring party, me and Karen met up with two other guys who left the team. We decided to band together, be chums and whatnot, and in no time at all we’re the four most powerful trainers in all of Johto~
I still kept to my Psychic types, of course~ Karen kept to her Dark types, though… But I can forgive her for that. She makes up for it~
{You give Will another sly look.}
Not like that!
Oh and by the way
You want more? I don't like you asking all these questions. Why can't I ask you some questions, huh? I'd do a lot better job than you would~ {You glare at Will and he easily backs off.} Fine...
I'm wandering Kanto for a reason. Staying in my arena was boring me so I decided to see what was going on everywhere else. Places to go, people to see (and beat in battles~ Hehehe!)
Oh, and Karen and I tossed our masks a while ago, but it felt so... wrong. {Will shivers.} I had worn a mask for so long, after I just dropped the one the masked guy gave me… it felt horrible. Being unmasked. Vulnerable and stuff. I got a new mask. One that I liked. I love this mask~ {Will claps his hands.}
I'm just a proxy for
{Will turns around and leans in, whispering.} If you're asking about that guy that's been following me around, well, I'd like to know who he is too. I've tried running away, but he just keeps finding me. H-He makes me feel uncomfortable. I've tried running away, but he just follows me. I think he's- {Will is pushed to the ground as a sixteen year old boy flies in and takes his spot.}
Luno. Professor Luno. {Luno shakes your hand vigorously.}
Here's some of their writing!
"Come on, boy! Put up a fight!"
"I-I am! Go Crobat!"
A young trainer grabbed a poke ball from his belt and chucked it into the battle arena. A purple bat flew out in a ray of light and flapped its four wings in the air while staring with menacing eyes. On the other side of the arena stood a man with a smirk on his face. It was one of the few features one got the chance to see. The rest of this was covered by a black mask with sides that seemed to melt down the edges of his face.
"Oh me, oh my! A Crobat. Whatever will I do~?"
The masked man simply put his hands to his hips and smiled at the boy opposite of him. He gave no command but rather a simple look to the pokemon that stood, quite still I might add, on his side of the arena.
The bird only stared straight ahead, showing no emotion at all. Its wings were folded in front of its face-like designed green body. Without even taking a look back at its master, the Xatu felt the look it was getting and flew up in the air and shot towards the Crobat.
"Crobat! Use, uh, use Wing Attack!"
The boy's voice was shaky and filled with desperation. The Crobat flew at its foe and pulled back one wing. Once they were close, the bat-pokemon took a swing at the Xatu, who only took a sharp turn right and went around the bat. Once they had passed each other, the bird turned around and shot a powerful psychic blast at the Crobat. The beam of energy hit its target, sending the opponent bat sprawling backwards and to the floor. The man in the mask laughed loudly, and quite obnoxiously, at his opponent who only dropped his head and returned his pokemon. The Xatu flew over to the still laughing man and stood completely still.
"Did you really think your little Crobat could beat my Xatu?"
The man pointed to the boy.
"Next time, boy, bring me pokemon, not toys."
The boy gave no verbal response. All he could do was look at the floor and walk out of the arena in defeat. The man in the mask ran his fingers through his purple hair and smiled proudly.
"Another one bites the dust~"
The man was a sight to see. Not only was he wearing a mask, but his choice of clothing, although formal, was odd. His hair was purple and covered one eye. He wore a suit with a black jacket with vibrant red cuffs wrapped around the sleeves to match his necktie. His hands were gloved in white and his pants were the matching, stunning red. Altogether, he looked almost like a clown in business casual. As many knew, this was the one and only Will of the Johto Elite Four. After just shooting down the dreams of yet another hopeful trainer, Will retired to his office-like room through a door at the side of his battling arena. He plopped himself into his chair and spun around a few times, the momentum lessening with each rotation. His trusted Xatu followed loyally and stood in the office, still unmoving.
After the chair ceased to spin anymore, Will looked around his "office." Amongst the complete mess that had engulfed the room, he managed to find a Mudkip bobble head.
"Ooh~"
Will excitedly grabbed the toy and shoved off all the papers on his desk, slamming the bobble head onto the surface. He leaned in closely, almost too closely, and tapped the head of the toy Mudkip. The Mudkip's head nodded a few times before slowly coming to a stop seconds after. Will's smile that had formed quickly vanished once the head stopped moving. Pulling back an arm and then releasing, he smacked the toy off of his desk and sulked back in his chair.
"That always gets so boring!"
Will sat back in his chair and very slowly spun himself around as he tried to think of something fun to do. Trainers weren't coming by as often as they used to and the ones who do were just horrible. How do the Gym Leaders ever lose to these kids? He hardly ever lost. However, when he did, he'd storm into his office and throw a few things around while whining about how it wasn't any fun. That's how his office got to be in the condition it was.
Suddenly, in an extreme switch of energy, Will shot up out of his chair and yelled,
"I've got it!"
Despite this explosion, Xatu remained completely still. Will hopped up on his chair extravagantly and raised a finger, as if he were about to announce an invention that would change the world. His proud smirk returned to his face and looked down at his pokemon.
"We'll leave! It's too boring here, so let's go somewhere where it's not. Oh, I'm so smart~"
The brightly colored Elite clapped his hands with glee like a ten-year-old while his Xatu looked on silently. Will hopped off of his chair and landed dramatically next to his pokemon. He clasped his hands together and vibrated with joy at his idea. His amazing idea.
"Let's go! Forget the bags, we won't need them. Come on, birdy~"
Will pulled out a poke ball from inside his suit jacket and returned his Xatu. With a flick of the wrist and a spin on one finger, he placed the poke ball back from whence it came.
Will strutted over to the door and kicked it open. Taking in a deep breath as if he had just entered the great outdoors, Will headed for the exit of his arena. Just as he reached the other side, the door flew open and the same young trainer walked in with a look of determination spread across his face.
"I'm back and this time I have a strategy! Let's go!"
Will looked at him for a moment before putting one hand on the boy's shoulder and scooting him out of the way. Will walked to through the doorway and then turned around to address the boy.
"Sorry, boy, but I'm on vacation. Maybe later~"
And with that comment, the door slid shut, but footsteps, as well as laughing, could be heard fading away. The boy took a look around the empty arena and sighed.
"Aw man..."
