Fidge is going by Electric Tale of Pikachu Ash. He's a bit different, so I hope this is okay. If you'd like to read part of the manga, you can click here.
If this is a problem, just tell me. ^^; This Ash seemed more appealing to me.
[He was pretty excited about the local television station coming to his house today -- the day before he would begin his Pokemon journey. His dear mother spent all her energy and time cleaning the house as Ash indulged in mindless comic book reading and TV entertainment.
But when the clock reached 3 PM sharp, Ash plummeted down the stairs from the inner bowels of his room, coming out for once in hours. He adjusted his hat as he entered the living room of his house. There, his eyes grew in glee at the television equipment set up in his own house. He was instantly equipped with a wireless microphone from one of the television crew staff, and seated before the camera lens. A large grin grew on Ash's face, especially when he noticed the red light on top of the camera flash on.
An interviewer held before himself a sheet and stood behind the camera.]
Okay, mister Ash! We're excited that you're one of the very, very few that are leaving from Pallet Town tomorrow to head off into the world of Pokemon. I hope you don't mind a few questions so we can learn more about yourself!
My Parents call me..
....
Yea, well. She calls me Ash. That's my name, right? So that is what she calls me. The full name would be Ash Ketchum.
............................................
Yea, yea. I know about the whole "CATCH'THEM" pun. >_>; You're not the first to bring that up!
[/ul]
My Friends call me..
....
Ashy-boy and Ashley are just a few of the, uhm, ingenious titles they call me.
[At this statement, Ash sinks in his seat and tugs his hat over his face, attempting to hide a vibrant blush that flourishes over his face. He mutters under his breath.]
... So embarrassing.[/ul]
I'm not an it! I'm a..
[Ash points at himself before looking down.]
So yeah, I'm a boy -- more specifically, a MAN. That's right! I'm not a kid any more -- I can put on my pants all by myself! >:C
[/ul]
I am a...
[/ul]
I don't need wrinkle cream! I'm..
[Ash appears prideful as his posture adjusts and his fists curl together. They press against his hips boldly for a moment before he crosses his arms.]
I'm ready to face the world. BRING IT ON. [/ul]
Do you think I need a diet?
My emotional disposition?
[Ash looks over at his mom who is sitting off camera and blinks a few times. She instantly feels his insecurity and rushes over next to his side.]
Oooh, Ash is such a great little boy! He's my little son, and I love him to pieces!
Moooooooom..
Ever since he was a toddler he's always been SO CLOSE to me. He's a very determined young man when it comes to things he loves the most -- and when he loves something, he's very passionate about it. ^_^ I also know he's a bit shy when it comes to the girls.
Mooooom!
But Ash, you do need to work on your temper and competitiveness. I cannot remember how many embarrassing times I'd have to apologize for you to Professor Oak for being so rude to his grandson! Siiigh~.
[She takes off Ash's hat and ruffles up his hair a bit.]
Though my little Ash is still growing and learning things, I am confident he will do just fine on his own. He's very eager and excited about all of this. Oooh, I'll miss you so much, honey!
MOOOOM. OKAY. Thank youu! D8} [/ul]
Things that
● Pokemon -- Kind of a no brainer here -- I AM a Pokemon trainer, after all! You should see the collection of stuff in my room -- it's amazing! though it did cost me waaaay too much money. I still owe Mommy for a lot of the stuff. >
● Food -- Mmm. Pizza. <3 Though, nothing beats Mom's home cooking!
● Traveling -- It's so much fun and exciting! I cannot wait until I've seen it all!
● Friends -- Even though I have to put up with their crap now and then, I still love'm. It's great getting to know new people.
● Professor Oak -- He's smart, and he's so cool *__* Ermheh, yeah. >_> It's a shame his grandson isn't as cool as him. mumblemumble. I see him a lot .... he and my mom.. get along..
...
[Ash appears in thought for a moment, and rubs the back of his neck.]
...Now that I think about it, they get along really well. It's.. kinda funny.
● Comic books -- ... I keep them inbetween my mattress and bed. Mom doesn't like them. BUT THEY'RE SO COOL. Don't tell her I read them please. D:
● Daisy Oak -- ... <3 <3 <3 S-s-he's so nice. And she's so excited that I'm going on a Pokemon quest. AND LOOK! She gave me this map to Kanto! Eee! She really likes me, I think. ;
[/ul]
Things that
[Ash's fists clench together as his lips curl in a slight scowl.]
● Gary's Pokemon -- Because they're Gary's -- and they're weak! I know they're weak. I'm not afraid of them! >:C
● Gary's hair -- It's spiky and weird -- and it's always in his face. like he's trying to be cool or something.
● Team Rocket -- Yeah. These guys are lame -- big time. I think everybody knows that.. and I don't need to go any further.
● Vegetables -- YUCK.
[/ul]
But.. I'm afraid!
[Ash stands up and points a finger in the air triumphantly. He seems proud and crosses his arms over his chest. His mother shoots him a dangerous glance, and Ash appears intimidated suddenly. He sits down reluctantly.]
.... Okay. I'm afraid of some things. I'm especially afraid of not fulfilling my dreams. I'm really not sure what I'd do if I couldn't become a Champion of Pokemon. It's.. it's my life! I'll keep chasing this dream until I die if I have to! B-But.. I really do not want to fail this time.
[Ash bows his head solemnly at this, but jerks it up upon hearing his mother's input again.]
Ash also doesn't like the dark!! Be sure you mention that, dearie!
MOM. SHEEESH.[/ul]
I like to...
Every once in awhile I'll take a break from that to walk around the neighborhood until I find somebody interesting to talk to.
But really, my favorite past time..? I just know it would have to be training my Pokemon.. :3 and making them real strong. I'm going to love doing that. Pokemon Masters have to have strong Pokemon, y'anno. Heeh-heeh.[/ul]
My reason?
Mandatory Angst:
OhohOH! Let me get the picture book! I've got so many cute pictures of you in here, Ash!
N-nno Mom! That's okay! I'll just explain to them what I can..
I grew up here in Pallet Town with my mother all through my life, doin' normal kid stuff. I've attended school up until now, but the town's board agrees that kids are dismissed from school if they're going on a Pokemon journey. Heehee -- YES!
I remember playing with the Oaks as kids all through my life. Gary and I were pretty good kiddie friends.. until he pushed me off the swingset one day. >:/ Not long after that, we'd compete in just about everything.. and he'd win most of the time.
His sister, though. She's always been so nice to me! Heeheehee. She'd always be happy to play pretend with me, even though I'm younger than her. So, Daisy and I, uhm, well. We're still good friends today. ^_^;
I watched the Pokemon battles on TV with Mom every Friday night. It was the end of the week and the most anticipated time for both of us. The battles we watched were so epic and awesome. I couldn't wait until next week to see what other Pokemon would battle. One battle I saw on TV inspired me a lot one night. I sat on my rooftop and gazed up at the sky. I thought for a very long time if I could do it -- if I could leave my home town and my Mom all by herself to reach my dream. It was an exciting night when I decided yes I could -- and yes I would. I knew, one day, that would be me on TV and MY Pokemon battling.
I read up on Pokemon as much as I could, and when I became of age to get my licese, I couldn't wait! I was totally psyched!
Buuut.. Mom didn't want me to leave until I got a little bit older... >_> hmm.. it's okay though, cause the day has finally come!
I promise you all, when I return, I'll have so much more to tell you -- you'll be amazed.
....
You wonder about my father..? Well, uhm.. that is something I don't wanna discuss openly.[/ul]
I'm just a proxy for..
[Ash points at a black and white fox-like creature with wings.]
It's kinda cute and it calls itself Fidge.
Ehhhh. It chews up the furniture sometimes. Mom really wants to get it out of the house for good.
EEEEEK!! THERE IT IS!! THERE'S THAT RAT! QUICK, GIMMIE THAT BROOM! D:< THIS IS WAR!
[Delia snatches a broom a crewman gives her and chases Fidge out of the house, yelling hysterically. Ash slumps in his seat before face palming with a sigh.][/ul]
Oh and by the way..
[Ash rubs the back of his neck again, a flush of red glowing on his cheeks.]
Ash likes redheads! Ooh, he had the cutest crush on this redheaded girl in school!
MOOOOM!!
But recently, he's been hanging out with Daisy Oak a lot. -^_^- Teehee -- I think my boy has got another crush now!
MOOOOOOOOOM!!
And I've seen him talk about Gary to himself before. You think a lot of him even though he's your rival -- don't you, Ash?
[Ash sinks in his seat again, trying his best to disappear from view.]
Moooom. This is MY interview. Let ME answer the next questions pleaaaase.
Well, thank you for your time -- both of you! But I think that's it for the questions today! You'll be able to watch this at 6 o'clock on Channel 3!
[This causes Ash to sit up suddenly and place his finger on the end of his nose, looking inquisitive.]
You mean that's it..?
.. Son, we asked you a lot of questions. In fact, our recording tape has run out. That is it.
[The man follows his crew who have packaged all the equipment up, and Ash runs out the door to follow, calling after.]
YOU SURE!?! Okay okay! Don't look at me like that!
....
You'll be interviewing me again soon when I come back as the title of the BEST Pokemon master out there!
[/ul]
Here's some of their writing!
sigh~
He stood up triumphantly and brushed himself off, his hands fumbling about his baggy black shirt to brush any dirt off,"Before you know it, my name will be everywhere! I'm going to be a master of Pokemon, and there's no stopping me! Haa! Yes! But let's see.. where to start..?"
The boy placed his hands in his denim pockets as he stood on the rooftop, his eyes once again dancing over the scenery. He bent over and put on his signature red and white hat to hopefully hide the hideous hairstyle he was currently displaying. He placed a finger on his petite chin, his expression showing sheer concentration, "I wanna catch a ... a Rattata first. Yeah, a Rattata."
"Then, I'm going to train my Pokemon real hard.. and they'll be my absolute best friends. We'll defeat Gym Leaders here and there, and they won't stand a chance! Haah! Yessss!" Ash exclaimed, pumping his fists in the air in a very animated motion. Tilting his head back, he put his fists on his hips and struck an arrogant pose for the whole neighborhood to see.
That was what he had been telling himself all freakin' day. And he was still getting carried away with it. He fell into a dream delusional mind as he ranted and raved to himself about, well, what two things he loved the most: himself and Pokemon.
"The rarest Pokemon will easily be obtainable with my team, and not to mention how impressed everyone will be once they see them. They will come from near and far to see the greatest trainer of all time and his lovable, but strong, Pokemon!"
Okay, so that was pushing it a little, but he had his hopes high.
Unearthly high, I might add.
"Oh maaan, and the media. They'll be booming my name in large print.. I can see it now."
With that note, Ash closed his eyes and took a deep breath of hair through his nose as he fantasized about his success in becoming an expert in training Pokemon.
The dream was shattered into pieces when he heard his Mom calling down below,"Hey Ash hun! Did you remember to take out the trash!?" She asked as she stuck her head out of the window down below.
In a huff, Ash slouched over, looking quite irritated,"Yes, Mom. I did all that really early today."
"Oh okay dear! Just making sure! Also, it's lunch time! Do you want your usual peanut butter and jelly on toasted bread?"
Well, that was an offer he couldn't reject. Nodding enthusiastically even though his mother couldn't see, he accepted and replied,"Yeah! Of course. No crust either, please."
"Okay, kiddo! I'll call you when it's ready!"
Now.. where was he? Oh yes. The media. But before he could get interlaced in himself and his future success, he caught the staring of an old neighbor who was watering his plants, and had witnessed the whole scene and shook his head slowly a few times in disapproval.
Seeming quite embarrassed at this point, Ash tugged his hat further down over his face, the shadow of the bill hiding his pink tinted cheeks,".. You just wait, old man. You just wait.." Ash chanted under his breath to make himself feel better.
But really. Ash looked like a quite pathetic little maniac, and the old man next door (and probably anybody else watching -- Ash really wasn't paying attention to how bizarre his behavior was right now) seemed to agree to that.
