Our Parents call us..
..you mean yesterday..?
Shuddup, Liza! It's my turn, okay? Anyways, yeah. Mom doesn't call me Tater Tot anymore. Only Tate. So, that's what Dad calls me, too. Also, Dad is really cool and stuff, so he doesn't make up any embarrassing nicknames for me, duh.
'Kay, my turn! My parents call me Liza. Not many nicknames you can get out of that, I don't think. My Mom still came up with one, though! She called me Zaza, pronounced like Zuh-Zuh...
[As Liza seems to ramble on about how she thinks that nickname is so cool and stuff, Tate rolls his eyes and sticks out his tongue at her before beginning to mock her with a silly expression on his face. This causes you to laugh a bit, which Liza overhears. She looks back at Tate, who doesn't notice that she has noticed his act, and glares at him quite.. aggressively. Upon finally seeing the glare, he frowns and stops mocking her and she continues on with her ramble]
..and, yeah, it's just really cool in general. Dad just calls me Liza, though, because I guess he's just simple like that or something.[/ul]
Our Friends call us..
They call me Tate! Sometimes Liza..
[He frowns and seems to shudder at the thought, seeming to dislike his next choice of words, obviously. Liza, on the other hand, giggles and then smirks as he begins to say the next words in a quick way]
..calls me Tatey but it is really annoying and inappropriate and childish and not good and stupid..
Hey! Tatey is a really cute name and you know it! Besides, it fits you: weird and gir-
Okay, now that that's over with.. Yeah, most of my friends just call me Tate or Gym Leader Tate, as said before.[/ul]
We're not an it! We're a..
I'm a girl, of course! I bet you could have already guessed that, though, right? Obviously. So.. I don't have anything else to say on the topic of this question. Let's move on, okay?
[She smiles at you and says that suggestion with the wave of her hand, but Tate doesn't seem to agree nor respond. Obviously, he's too caught up in debating whether or not he looks like a girl, but he soon nods and seems to want you to move on, as well][/ul]
We're...
[Liza and Tate both nod, seeming to agree on this topic, something you haven't seen happen yet. It is clear that they don't always fight, though; they have to work together, after all, to be in the position they are in now]
Yeah, try. We're pretty tough, if you ask me! Seventh gym leaders in the region - that means we're the second strongest gym to beat. Next to the eighth, that is. But, it's still pretty hard to beat us, regardless, but.. if you do..
[He frowns at the thought, but Liza still seems to be happy about it]
We'll gladly reward you with the Mind Badge![/ul]
We don't need wrinkle cream! We're..
Yes, for all you know, we could be seventy-five or three or something! But, we're not any of those ages, as far as you know! So, go ahead and guess, like Tate said, but you won't get it right!
[They nod, seeming to agree again, but then Tate frowns and glares at Liza, saying something that sounds similar to 'you stole my idea' and she shakes her head, clearly disagreeing with that fact. This causes them to bicker for a few moments before deciding that they shouldn't do this in front of you; they nod once more]
So.. ..yeah![/ul]
Do you think we need a diet?
[Tate seems to not have been listening to most of what she had been saying, but as soon as she speaks his name, his attention is back on the subject almost immediately and, for some reason, you don't exactly believe his next words]
Huh? Oh yeah, of course, I wouldn't do that. Duh, why would I lie about myself? There's nothing to lie about!
[Liza stares over at him for a minute, unsure of his words, as well, but shrugs and decides to move on, nodding]
I'll describe Tate first, okay? So, Tate is my brother and honestly, we look pretty alike. He has dark blue hair, but it basically looks black. His hair isn't exactly short, though, especially when it's not done properly and isn't up.
[She snickers at the next words and, seeing her reaction to that, Tate seems to know what she's gonna say next. He clearly wants to protest, but Liza silences him with a flick of her hand, since it is her turn, after all. He frowns and you guess that he'll probably try to get her back when it's his turn to start describing]
Actually, when his hair is down, he looks like a girl! I mean, really, even girlier than some girls! It's quite funny, actually, but he doesn't seem to think so.. Honestly, sometimes I think his sense of humor isn't all that great..
His eyes are blue, too, and they rather girly, as well. It's hard to notice that trait in this case, though, I guess! He's often 'wide-eyed' or whatever whenever something surprises or shocks him. I guess that happens to a lot of people, though. He frowns a lot, too, so I think that when he gets older he's gonna have quite a few wrinkles!
We wear a matching outfit, so I guess I can cover this one without having Tate describe mine, as well, when it's his turn. So, well, the base color is a light blue color, almost a light purple, instead, but it isn't quite that color yet. The decor on the outfit is a medium red shade, I suppose, and there's a lot of it. On the sleeves and the front of it are designs that look like pokeballs. Also, we have special hair accessories that go with the outfit, too. They're a lighter shade, though. Maybe more of a lavender..?
[After a brief glare over at Liza, Tate nods and gestures towards his twin as he begins to describe her]
Liza has dark blue hair, as well, but she has longer hair, naturally, since she, after all, is the girl of the two of us. It's sort of.. bouncy and she has two pieces of hair that are not up in a hair tie, like the rest of her hair. Her face could be considered.. heart-shaped, maybe? Either way, I can't say she's particularly ugly, but it just isn't natural for a sibling to judge their relative that way.
Her eyes are blue, too, and she usually always has a cheery expression on her face unless we've lost in a battle or something. She much prefers to smile than anything, I think, so she's often seen with a grin on her face instead of a frown or something. It's dorky, in my opinion, but I guess that doesn't matter much when it comes to Liza.
As said before by Liza, since she has already described the outfit, I'm not going to say anything about it. She didn't include anything about height or any minor details, though, it seems, so I'll describe those instead. Well, we aren't the tallest people in the world, if it isn't already obvious. We're about the same height, too, as well. And, if you haven't guessed it yet, we're twins. Although, I'm the better one of the two of us, of course.
[Liza seems to frown at that suggestion, but doesn't say anything about it. Instead, they both nod and seem to be satisfied with their descriptions of each other, besides the insults that were threw in there at various places. They also seem to want you to continue on with the questions, seeing as they're both staring at you intently.][/ul]
Our emotional disposition?
[He gestures for Liza to begin and she nods and smiles, beginning to do so, since it is her turn, after all]
Tate is.. Well, Tate doesn't always listen to what everyone has to say. Maybe his attention span is just short when it comes to talking for a long period of time, but when we're battling or whatever, his full attention is on that. Of course, that might just be because he wants to win, but I think it's because he just has a really strong passion for battling. We both do.
He often tends to take things to the heart, too. So, like, if I call him girly or something, it really bothers him. I don't know why, but it just does. Maybe he's a bit self-conscious or something. I call him names and stuff anyways, but when others do it, it really makes me mad. I mean, it's just like, "Who do you think you are, being mean to my brother like that?!" Not that he always appreciates me coming to rescue him, though.
Tate is pretty calm, too, in general, but he often overreacts a lot more than I do, which is surprising, considering the fact that the girl's always the one who is considered the drama queen. Anyways, though, he doesn't like it when we lose or something doesn't go how he wants it to or something, and I can't really say that I blame him. But, still, freaking out is sort of uncalled for, end of story.
To say the least, Tate is pretty awesome. He's a friendly person and he has a lot of friends, even though he probably won't admit it. Sure, he brags and all that, but I guess he's a bit more.. modest than me. If he thinks he's cool, he'll say it, but if someone compliments him or says something nice about him, he'll just be all, "Uh.. if you say so?" or "I guess so.. I don't really think so, though.." like a little dork, haha. Sometimes I wish he would just take the compliment when someone gives it to him, though.
[She finally nods, clearly finished with her description of Tate's personality. They seem to hesitate while thinking about what they had said about each other, but then they nod again, ready for you to move on to the next question][/ul]
Things that are Groovy:
>The Sun - It looks like Solrock, my favorite pokemon! I like the brightness of it, too, not to mention the fact that it's a star and there's so many of them!
>Space - It's just so pretty and it's really interesting. You know, I'd like to find out more about it. Maybe I'll see if Roxanne has a book about it or something, since she's so smart and likes to read a lot of stuff, apparently.
>Space - I agree, it's really interesting. That tends to be the reason why we hang around at the Space Center that my Dad works at. It's really cool and all. One day, I might like to actually go to space.
>Music - Honestly, who doesn't like it? Nowadays, it seems that everyone has to have it or something. I don't play or sing or anything, but it's still just really cool in general, I think.
>Technology - They use a lot of technology up at the Space Center. I like to mess with it and stuff, too. Not to mention a lot of game systems are considered technology. Man, those are fun to play - especially the ones with Liza and I in it![/ul]
Things that aren't so Groovy:
>SINGLE battles - I don't think they're very cool. Besides that, Tate and I can't battle with each other that way. Although, we do like to battle each other sometimes. I always win, though, of course! Well, actually, he has won once or twice..
>Evil teams - Seriously, they're just annoying sometimes. I mean, we tell them to go away and stuff and not to mess with the Space Center and we even kick their asses and they still don't want to go away. I mean, it's like, what the fuck?
>Tate's WHINING - Sometimes it just really bugs me. I mean, just because something happens that he doesn't like, it doesn't mean he needs to get pissy with everyone around him and start cussing his little head off and stuff. Really, it's stupid sometimes. Although, he does make good points sometimes, not that I would ever admit that to his face. It'd go to his head.[/ul]
But.. we're afraid!
>Of being worse than Liza - Sure, I know that she's the better battler and everything, but I've been training really hard to become better than her and, man, if all my training just goes to waste, that would really suck. So, yeah, I'm scared of being worse than her because, I guess, people expect us to be really good battlers and stuff, but sometimes I feel that Liza's the only good one, it's just that no one ever has the nerve to say that out loud.[/ul]
We like to...
>Visit dad at work - Really, he has the best job ever: working in a Space Center! He's been to space before, too, and it's really cool. I want to be able to do that one day, too, honestly, and I hope that I can bring Tate with me! So, when we get older, I wanna work there, too. But I'm definitely not ever going to give up being a gym leader, either.[/ul]
Our reason?
We get to kick asses this way and not get in trouble. I mean, it's really cool that we get to do that and all because, if we got in fights all the time and we weren't using pokemon, we could get in trouble by the law easily - not to mention our parents. [/ul]
Mandatory Angst:
Oh, okay! Well, I guess I'll start with the one time that we got lost and were almost separated before, which wasn't good at all..
Okay, one time, when we were little, we both got mad at something our parents said and decided to run off together. Of course, it was something stupid and it probably had something to do with not getting our way or something, but, still, it upset us at the time. Anyways, Mossdeep City isn't an extremely huge place, so how we managed to get lost there is unknown to me. Although, there is a little forest down by the shore somewhere. It's mainly just a few trees, but I guess that's enough to get lost in..?
Either way, we managed to get lost and we couldn't find our way back. We were little kids then, though, so I guess that's why. We never really went out much back then, so we weren't extremely use to the surroundings around there. So, while we were lost, this big storm hit Mossdeep City. And, when I say 'huge', I mean it. We were really scared and stuff and so we both ran. But, the problem was that Tate ran one way and I ran the other way, causing us to become separated from each other.
Yeah, back then, we almost never left each other's side and stuff. We were always together and the thought of being without each other was pretty scary to us. We were afraid we would lose each other forever or something, so we were really scared. The thing was, though, Liza accidentally ran farther away from safety, where as I ran back closer to the city.
Yeah, that's what happened! I got even more scared during that time, too. I mean, it was thundering and lightning and stuff. It was dark, too, which really added to the scary effect. Being alone out there wasn't the best thing ever, of course. I couldn't find my parents or anyone else who I recognized from Mossdeep, either, so, I felt like I was abandoned there. Worst of all, though, I thought that Tate was gone and was never coming back.
It turns out, though, since Tate had ran back towards the town, he was found before I was. Of course, he ended up telling his rescuers where I was, soon enough, and they went out searching for me. Tate wanted to go with them to look for me, too, but they told him no. Which was understandable, since it was dangerous and stuff, but he was still a little upset by that decision.
The search party or whatever found me soon and, at first, I was hesitant to go with them. I was too scared to really recognize them or anything. I had just figured that it was just a bad dream, anyways. But, they knew my name, so I figured they were friends like any younger kid would, I guess. So, I went with them and it turns out that I was right - they were friends. Soon, we were back in Mossdeep.
That's where we were reunited with my parents. More importantly, though, I was reunited with Tate. We had to be the happiest kids at the moment, too, I bet. I mean, it was really cool and all. I was super scared before, too, but it seems like all the fear was gone when I saw Tate again. We haven't been separated since. It's really good, too, and stuff and I hope it never happens again.
[She nods and looks over at Tate, as if in a way of asking if he had anymore to tell. He nodded at her and seems surprised that she wouldn't know what he would say next, but she soon seems to know what he's thinking about and nods again, too]
Eventually, our dream began to come into the picture; we wanted to be a gym leader! Both of us did and, at first, we didn't see how that would be possible. There were only eight gyms, as you know, and two of us. Besides, most of the other gyms already had gym leaders and we definitely didn't want to leave Mossdeep City.
We soon realized what we could do, though. We could be a gym that dealt with double battles and stuff! We liked to work together after all and neither of us wanted to be away from each other. So, we decided that would work. When we told our parents about that, though, they said that we would have to train really hard to do that if we wanted to.
By that time, we had already gotten our first pokemon: Lunatone and Solrock. Lunatone was Liza's and Solrock was mine, obviously. So, we agreed to that and began to train and train and train. We caught other pokemon, too, in the process; Baltoy(who eventually evolved into Claydol), Slowpoke, Drowzee, and Xatu. We worked together to do that, too, obviously.
Soon enough, we decided that we were strong enough and applied to take the 'Gym Leader Test'. Soon enough, we were able to take the actual test and, at first, we were denied because, as stated, 'it was completely unacceptable for a gym to have two gym leaders' or something. Which we didn't exactly understand. Really, why did there have to be only one gym leader..?
After a whole bunch of reasoning and stuff, our opinion finally made sense to them. Not everything had to go by the book; new things happened, just like two people in charge of one gym. Thus, we were able to become the gym leaders of Mossdeep Gym, like we wanted to be originally. We were glad that it all worked out in the end, of course, haha.
Yep! That's it, though. Like we said, we don't really have much.. 'angst'. I hope that was enough info. If not, I guess we could describe some minor stuff, too..?
[She looks at you quizzically, but you just nod in a way of saying that was enough information. They had talked about it for quite a while, after all, and you had managed to get quite a bit down, as well][/ul]
Oh and by the way...
We're really good at battling, though, so you probably won't win~![/ul]
We're just proxies for..
[He gestures towards a brunette girl at the back of the room who seems to be writing this stuff down, too. Rather.. she seems to be writing it down on her arms instead of a paper..? How one can write so much information on only two arms is unknown to you, but she seems to have managed it. She looks up for one moment to glance at you, but then quickly returns to her writing. For all you know, she could be writing down your exact movements at this very moment]
Aw, her name is Moddy! and I don't think she's weird at all, thank you.[/ul]
Here's some of their writing!
"Wow, Kanto sure is different from Hoenn, I would think."
The dark-haired girl said as she glanced over at the similar looking male beside her. They seemed to be of the same height and wore the same clothing, which was quite weird, considering the fact that nowadays everyone wanted to be.. unique, with their own sense of style and everything. The guy of the pair looked back over at the girl and nodded, agreeing on this.
"Yeah, I know. Don't tell me your missing Mossdeep City already, though, sis?"
He said this as if it was a bad thing to feel homesick. As if he was glad that she was the one to start missing things first. She frowned and momentarily glared at him before returning her gaze to the path they were taking. No, she wasn't homesick just yet and she really didn't intend to be. This wasn't the first time she was away from home, so why should she be? There was truly no reason for it.
"Nah, I'm fine. I don't miss anything just yet."
She said this in a calm manner, which seemed to upset her brother for a moment. She was always calm and he decided that it would be nice to see her freak out about something once in a while. Sometimes, he thought it was scary that she was so calm, as a matter of fact. But, he'd gotten used to that a long time ago. He always hung around her, so he had to. They were twins, after all. Inseparable ones at that.
"Yeah, well, if someone challenges us, I'm turning them down. It was busy at the gym before we decided to take this vacation, anyways.."
It was true. They were tired from battling everyone there. Sure, as gym leaders, they should have been used to it by now, which they were, but everyone needed a break once in a while, right? Of course. The girl nodded in agreement, but frowned a little as he said this. She didn't exactly want to battle right now, but she didn't want to disappoint anyone, either.
"If they absolutely beg for it, though, we're battling them, whether you like it or not."
He frowned this time. What? Was it like his opinion didn't matter at that time? Apparently so. Well.. Of course his opinion did matter, but he should have known that his twin wouldn't want to make anyone sad by not battling them. He sighed and nodded, finally deciding that he should just agree with her.
"I guess, Liza. But, still. This is time for vacation, not getting tired all over again."
"I know that and it's not like I want to be tired."
She said this in a matter-of-fact way, which made him roll her eyes. She always did this. 'This' meaning acting like she knew more than him, just because she was older and more experienced. Whatever. Either way, she wasn't going to get him to admit that she was.
"But, in case you don't remember, you were the one who came up with the idea of being a gym leader, anyways."
She pointed out, just in case he decided that he wanted to start an argument about it. Just like he had said, this was a time for vacation, not becoming tired and, considering how long some of their arguments lasted, arguing could lead to just that: becoming tired.
"Yeah, well.. Whatever. Let's just.. Enjoy this time, I guess."
He said after a moment of hesitation. At first, he wasn't sure what he was supposed to say after "let's just". He finally decided to just be simple, instead of using some long description or something to display exactly what he meant by "enjoy this time". Besides, Liza was smart enough to come up with something herself. He didn't need to explain anything to her.
"Alright, Tatey, but, if you don't battle with me if someone challenges us, I'll just battle without you."
He scowled at her use of the nickname but quickly recovered from that, snorting when she explained what she would do. What a bluff. She would definitely not battle without him. He knew that, hands down. It was only common knowledge for the two of them or anyone who knew a bunch about them: they didn't do anything without each other. Well, besides personal stuff, but you know what I mean.
Speaking of which, they were definitely not going to enjoy this vacation without one another. No, they were going to enjoy it together, of course. They had to. That was just how it goes.
