Riiiiing. Riiiiiing.
As he waits for the answer, Bill mumbles hopelessly to himself. I... I need your help? Mmehmehmeh... Look, I have a... problem? No. There's... A giant golem in my front yard, and... Bill groans, anxiously waiting for the phone to stop ringing by any means.
Riiiing.

Almost right after, the familiar ringtone from his cellphone proudly played the Star Spangled banner, snapping Surge from his contentment into sudden rage, "Whaa--? What the HELL is that -- ohh! Ahh! Who could this be?"Upon reading the name on his cellphone, Surge sucked in his cheeks with a blank expression, "This'ad better be important," Surge said with a grunt before pressing the answer key and holding to the phone to his ear. "Yeah? ..... Bill, ol' buddy! How goes it!? Look, champ, I'd absolutely love to chat, but I'm ....... busy at the moment. Why not try calling me another time..? 10-4?"It appears as if Surge completely ignored anything Bill said, and boy, was the lieutenant talking fast this time. However, upon hearing the word trouble, Surge's eyebrows furrowed together, and he replied with this, "Woah, woah, woah. Wait a sec -- you have a problem..? Haahaa! I'll tell you what your problem is -- you gotta get out more!"By the tone of his loud voice, it's evident Surge isn't taking the conversation seriously... Atleast, not yet. He was relaxing, afterall. Bill flinches as a familiar voice barks from the other side of the receiver. He's not sure whether to be relieved or even more nervous. "Ah, yeah, Surge, it's Bill, and..." The man just kept talking. Bill fumbled with the phone slightly, hopelessly waiting for Surge to spare a silent moment within which Bill could explain the call. "Ah, yes, you see..." He just kept going, and Bill was beginning to remember why he had never invited Surge over for tea. "Uh, yes..." he mumbled, barely registering what the loud man was saying until he got to a more relevant topic. "Look, Surge, I just need some help. I don't really know who could come over immediately, so I thought I'd try you..." he sighed; did he realize what he was getting himself into? "I know you specialize with electricity, but I really didn't know who else to call, and..." He was rambling. "I need to return a feral golem to the Cerulean Caves. It's rather dangerous, you see, and... I'm not sure I could do it on my own." Bill rushed through the last parts, cradling the phone against his cheek.

Surge thinks to himself as his eyes shut behind his glasses. A brief pause occurs between the two before Surge smirks. "Oh, c'mon, Billy. You called just because you wanted to talk to me. Don't give me that I-don't-know-who-to-contact-besides-Surge shit. Admit it."Once again, by the lighthearted tone of Surge's voice, he seems to not be grasping the seriousness of the situation. But really. Was it that bad? It was a wild Pokemon. Big whoop. In Surge's eyes, this was nothing more than kid's stuff. It was something he knew he could easily handle, and it was hard to see where Bill was coming from in all of this. "Where're you at now?" Surge finally asks as he looks at his Poketch attached to his wrist to see the time. [/ul]

Bill finds himself rolling his eyes in exhaustion at half the things Surge says. Ignoring his first comment, Bill answered Surge's question with higher hopes. "I'm at my house, in Cerulean. But--how long will it take you to get down here? I was thinking I would head for the Caves, and then meet you there."

time. I'm sacrificing my valuable time in my busy schedule to attend to your problem! I know what we'll do. Whatt'ya say, we hit the bar after this shindig, and you're buying! Deal?" Before Bill can reply, Surge butts in again, voice constantly talking loudly and fast, "Deal! Excellent!! I'm on my way!"Already, Surge was walking along the beachside and carrying this bag by the strap with one hand lifted close to his broad shoulder. He clears his raspy throat, a wild grin playing upon his features. For a guy who was relaxing on the beach, he sure sounded eager to talk to Bill. It could possibly be because he hasn't seen his friend in awhile. Matter of fact, had it of been anybody else calling him, he probably would not of even picked up the phone. "One more thing -- is there anything else I needa know from your yap or are we ready to get this thing on?" [/ul]

Bill waited patiently for Surge's response; if he decided he didn't have the time to help him out, well, he'd just call someone else. He still held onto the phone for dear life, staring at the receiver anxiously. When Surge finally replied, Bill breathed a sigh of relief, though he tried to keep it inaudible. He jerked up quickly at Surge's 'conditions.'
"B-b-bar?!" he stumbled, but it was to no avail: Surge had already made up his mind, and the color had drained from Bill's face.
He quickly regained himself as he realized Surge was actually addressing him once again. "Uh, well, uh... N-no," Bill muttered, cradling the phone against his face and wondering where his mind had been when he had decided to call Surge in the first place.

Another pause swept across Surge before he smiled pleasantly to himself. "Oh, and hey, it's nice hearing your voice again! I've been rather Bill-deprived.. You see, there hasn't been anybody for me to pick on without you around! HaahahaAA!" Surge exclaims before bursting forth in obnoxious laughter. "Alright, soldier. See you! Over an' out!"..... CLICK.Within moments, Surge begins to sprint along the beach, kicking up sand from behind him. What a joyous mood he appears to be in. It had to be the fact he was going to see his "partner" again. However, he would like to think it was nothing more but the excitement of dealing with another feral Pokemon. Perhaps it was a combination of the two. With Surge, nobody really knew.[/ul]

"Alright. See you there." Bill affirmed, ready to put the phone down until Surge spoke again. Surprised by hearing something of a thoughtful sentiment coming from Surge, Bill felt a faint blush tickle his face. Before he managed to return the gesture somehow, Surge went and reminded Bill of just how loud and obnoxious he could be. "Good-bye," Bill muttered, placing down the receiver.
