oo1. No made-ups/OCs are permitted on the site. This forum is completely canon-only, and though it takes place in Kanto, canons from every region are welcomed. Characters from the anime, manga, games, or movies all are stuffed into one region, as are all Pokemon generations. To see what canon characters are available, please click here.
Before you claim a legendary, be sure to look and see how they have been ‘revamped'.
oo2. This site is literate to advanced. This means there should be plenty of substance to a post, as well as exceptional quality. You must love to write and read in order to roleplay here!
oo3. The content here is mature. There are no limits with violence, gore, romance, etc, as long as it is tasteful and relevant. That being said--we will not tolerate meaningless porn, over-the-top graphic violence, or anything unwanted and crude.
oo4. Please don't spam. There's a c-box for general chatting, and also boards for such threads. You all should know this, but no powerplaying, godmoding, etc. I don‘t need to elaborate on this, do I?

oo1. Before you begin roleplaying, your character must must must be posted in the "Character Application" section under "Pending". Use the template to fill out all of the respective fields from your character's point of view. When completed, post it and an admin will either accept or reject it. Once it has been moved and accepted, then you may begin roleplaying.
oo2. You can only start out with four characters. More than one person may apply for the same character at a time; however, once a character is taken, there will be no more applying for him or her.
EDIT; Due to popular vote, we are allowing five characters but only if you've proved you can play more than one character at the same time, placing them in different threads, and remain active. If you cannot keep up with the characters, you will be asked to delete at least one.
oo3. Characters such as Ash, May, Dawn, and the other main characters cannot start off with their Pokemon they have in the anime. The trainers must start with only a single Pokemon. Team members, gym leaders, police officers, and other occupations may be experienced, and with the pokemon they currently have in canon. Some minor characters of the show also may start with their Pokemon, but typically none of Ash's "rivals" or anyone similar. Just ask if you need clarification.
oo4. The age that a person can become a Pokemon Trainer is 16, due to the fact that in this world, Pokemon training can become more violent than in the anime and such.
oo5. All trainers get the option to begin with the Pokemon their character originally got, or to get a new one. For example, if the person playing Ash did not want him to start with a Pikachu, they could have him visit a laboratory and get a different Pokemon. But if they did want him to have a Pikachu, they would post with him already having obtained his Pikachu and beginning on his journey.
oo6. The entire roleplay takes place in Kanto, and this means you need to pick a town to start from or to live in. If you are a trainer, you have to logically begin somewhere and follow a remotely believable path. If you begin in Celadon City, you can't pop over to Cinnabar Islands then to Saffron.
oo7. Gym leaders are permitted to wander about the region. Chilling out in a gym for the entire time has to be hellz boring. They can be challenged for a gym battle where ever and whenever; it doesn't have to take place in their gym. In addition, team members are not confined to their "hideouts". In or out of disguise they can also zip around, and can move from town to town in one post via the aid of helicopters or cars or motorcycles or planes or flying Pokemon.
oo8. You earn money by posting. For every post, you earn $100, kept track in your profile. There are extra ways to make money, also. Every time you buy something, that money is subtracted from your total. Though people don't randomly just give you money when you beat them in a pokemon battle, holding a gun to their head and demanding everything in their pockets is a well-proven way to earn an extra bit of cash. Be sure to inform a moderator when you need money to be exchanged.
about the Pokemon ♥[/font]
oo1. Pokemon equal animals. A Poochyena is a dog, a Rapidash is a horse, a Tauros is a bull. They are just animals... with magical powers. Most of them cannot speak, and whether or not they can understand human speech depends on the pokemon’s individual intelligence. Naturally, they can understand orders for attack. Legendaries equal gods. Thus, they have the ability to speak in any sort of language they wish, and adopt a more human-like intellect and personality rather then an animal-like one.
oo2. Though Pokemon are animals, they are more meant for fighting and thus heal faster then a normal creature. Minor wounds will heal overnight, and more major ones just take a few days. Broken bones take about a week to heal. So if your Pokemon breaks a bone or receives and injury, keep in mind that it is still there, but will vanish faster then your typical broken bone or wound. And unless you're some kind of doctor-trainer, it's recommended to ship your wounded creatures off to the nearest Pokemon Center.
oo3. Pokemon don't have levels - not in the anime, nor on the site. It’s up to you to judge when a pokemon is ready to evolve, and considering you are an advanced writer, you should know how much training will be needed. Of course, this doesn't work for Pokemon that need stones to evolve. For Pokemon such as Pikachu or Growlithe, you must buy a stone to make them evolve.
oo4. Catching Pokemon. First Pokemon-- If you are a trainer, you either go to a laboratory and pick a Pokemon from there, or start out with the Pokemon your character started out with in the games.
Gym leaders get to keep all of their Pokemon - they do not have to start over, obviously.
Same with team members. If you are a member of Team Rocket/Magma/Aqua, you get to keep all of your Pokemon you had in the anime/games/movie/manga.
For catching new Pokemon, if you're looking for a Pokemon rather than social interaction, make it clear in your post. An admin will post that a Pokemon popped up, and it is simply your job to duke it out with that wild Pokemon and catch it with a Pokeball. If the admin states that the Pokemon has been captured, you add it to your team and it becomes yours. This works with anyone - trainers, gym leaders, team members, etc. There are more criminal ways of obtaining new pokemon - such as just stealing.
oo5. Pokemon attacks. Pokemon can only have a maximum of four attacks. Though they are like animals, Pokemon differ because they possess "magical powers".
Each Pokemon has an element - fire, water, electric, grass, dark, flying, psychic, ground, rock, steel, dragon, bug, poison - and can magically learn attacks that follow that genre. Humans have come to give names to these attacks. For example, a fire-type pokemon can often times breathe fire, and that attack is called "Flamethrower". A grass-type pokemon can sometimes produce leaves into the air, and that is called "Razor Leaf". However, not all Pokemon can learn every attack, and they can't learn attacks outside of their type.
Every Pokemon is born knowing two attacks. Not, it is not always "Growl" or "Tackle" or "Tail Whip". Very frequently Growlithes are born knowing "Flamethrower" and "Crunch". If they remain unprovoked in the wild or are tame, it is unlikely that they will learn any more attacks. However, if they are caught or frequently engage in battles with other wild Pokemon, they oftentimes gain new abilities. These are not influenced by "levels" since those don't exist here.
Pokemon may learn attacks through training--they might suddenly unlock the power within themselves, or a trainer can focus the pokemon on honing a specific skill.
Because a Pokemon has no influence over what attacks it naturally learns, humans have created "Technical Machines" which are able to go in and alter which attacks Pokemon can learn. However, not all TMs work on all Pokemon, and still fire-type Pokemon can only learn fire-type TM attacks, and so on.
Be practical--any pokemon with a set of claws can scratch, any pokemon with teeth can bite. If they know the ‘attack’ Bite or Scratch, than these attacks simply enhance their ability.
Still on that subject, there is an attack called Surf and Dig and all that, but all water Pokemon know how to swim, and most Pokemon know how to dig holes. Your Pokemon does not need to know "Surf" in order to swim. The attack Surf simply allows it to conjure up a body of water and send a giant wave over its opponent. Simple, eh? Ask for more clarification on the attacks if you are confused.
oo6. Via an attack, a Pokemon can be wounded by a "status condition". These are, for example, Burning, Freezing, Sleep, Confusion, Poison, and so on. In this roleplay, these are much more serious than they are in the games.
For example, if your Pokemon is hit by a Flamethrower, they will catch on fire and probably be severely burned.
Freezing is very unlikely as you cannot physically "freeze" by being hit with shards of ice. However, if you are attacked by water in very cold temperatures, then there is that chance.
There are Pokemon who may force your Pokemon to sleep--it is a deep state and its effects depend on the power of the attack. To wake a Pokemon up, hurting them and yelling at them could help, but remember that it’s like taking a powerful sleeping pill or something.
Confusion merely makes them disorientated and dizzy, and wears off in a bit.
Poison is very serious, and the severity of the poisoning depends on the type and strength of the Pokemon. Some toxics are fatal, but either way, if your Pokemon becomes poisoned, it's a very good idea to stop the battle right then and there.
Paralysis renders a Pokemon unable to physically move; however, they might be able to force themselves to overcome the condition for one reason or another.
oo7. There are no PP, HP, or levels. Pokemon may use their attacks infinite times, and their health is pretty much a gauge between "alive", "almost dead", and "dead". Instead of basing their power on levels, you base it on the experience they’ve gained through roleplay.
oo8.Though this is much like the anime in characters and such, this site has taken a more realistic spin on the Pokemon world. Basically, envision the world as we know it, but with Pokemon. For example, bad guys carry guns. Anorexia is actually an eating disorder, and not just an excuse to be thin. Pokemon take the place of wild animals, and are tamed/disliked/eaten as such. Pokemon battles are much like dog fights. These Pokemon are able to bleed and break bones, as well as die. When a Pokemon dies, a "revive" doesn't bring it back. When a Pokemon is bitten, you can't just spray a "potion" on it. Pokemon battles are more of a cautious thing here, considering when you engage in one, it's not like your little creature will be perfectly fine afterwards.
