If you push through the grass here, wander until you find the clearing in the field, you'll see a large slab of gray stone set into the dirt. Hemmed in by grass, it is covered with a thin layer of water that doesn't spill over into the natural ground around it. On the stone itself, lines and curves are seen forming themselves constantly, flickering from one word to another - for that is what they are, words. Each day the tablet smooths over, waiting for the signal of its owner to record the new day's events. Then the water shimmers, the rock cutting itself away to form the words that hold a Goddess's memories in place. At the slab's base, a small rock plaque bears a permanently-etched word in it, almost worn away by the seasons. +V E S I +

Note: As these are the recorded memories of a Goddess, human time is not found in here. It can only be guessed as to what order these retrieved "journal" entries go in. Please remember that gaps between segments can be mere days or several years long. The Burned Tower's smell won't go away. I've swum around the entire region twice, ran through all its rivers and slept in the lakes I've found. No matter what, the scent of charred wood and seared air assaults my nose. I've spent half my nights wondering if Raikou and Entei are troubled by this as well. Not likely, since their affinity for fire is greater than mine. Of course, Entei must have found the smell delightful, but Raikou might be disgusted with it as well. He's the kinder of my brothers, anyhow. Last I heard, he was crossing the region to divert a lightning storm from Pallet Town. Entei was heading up to a place he told me he knew was Lavaridge, where he'd attend to the volcano there. Me, I've been trying to get this terrifying scent out of my fur. The water I touch is cleaned as I pass over it, anyways, so I've been getting into my job while scrubbing the splinters of burned wood out of my mane. Did the other Gods and Goddesses experience this in their first years? Get assaulted by countless reminders of their birth? Or were their creations peaceful, I wonder. I suppose it's an effect of rising from a deceased Pokemon's spirit. Perhaps my core is holding onto the last sensations it knew, keeping the fallen tower's presence around me. I've been paying more attention to the world's water as I've passed through all of it. It seems the only pollutants in the world so far are mild, most of them naturally caused. There are some human-related incidents that show up, but it does not seem as if they are purposely tainting the water. I experimented with my powers earlier. A portion of snow up near the humans' Snowpoint City froze into diamond-hard ice, a phenomenon I decided to leave alone. If the humans find it, I will let them tamper with it as they please. It has no effect on the environment whether alone or touched by others, so I will let them have the ice. In half a year I will be meeting my brothers to discuss the world's condition. For now, we have split up to our separate duties. Hopefully Rai takes to trailing Zapdos for us; it seemed unreasonable for Entei and me to join him in tracking the bird Legendary while tending to our elements as well. Perhaps we will set up a system of shifts, and that way Rai won't be too stressed. The humans seem to have already learned of our existence, and I've spotted a few "conventions" popping up around the region. Entei expressed a strange amount of interest in these, while Raikou and I have run past casually with barely a second look. He makes me wonder what he is planning to do with those humans.
